La Tejedora is a quality rural hostel set in a very peaceful small village in the east of the province of Cantabria. The house is built in a very quiet village in the Ason Valley (Eastern Cantabria) and has wonderful views of the mountain and the Laredo bay and marshes.. It is only 10 minutes from Laredo Beach, 50 minutes from Bilbao and 30 from Santander and the Cabárceno Wildlife Park.
Situated in a house built around 350 years ago and renovated according to the criteria of a bio-based construction, with stone walls and chestnut wooden floors, and which includes the following installations:
Double en-suite rooms with a loft floor for children (independent house)
Large 100 m2 lounge for activities, courses, talks...
Homemade cooking (also vegetarian)
Terraces and lawns
Sheltered outside dining area with a large barbecue
Lots of space for your total health
The Hostel also has double rooms and are rented complete with a fully equipped kitchen.
Activities
Several different workshops are held on "Personal Growth", Bio dancing,
Tai-chi, Yoga, Meditation...
Hiking: around the areas of Arredondo, Asón, Ramales de la Victoria and the Rasines Valley. There are more than 110 km of easy and short signposted routes.
Caving: the network of caves in the Alto Asón has created a circuit of visits with professional guides who will help you to enter a world of adventure and astonishment in such unique creations of nature. Most of the caves (some with prehistoric paintings) are accessible to everybody although some are only for the more experienced
The Alto Asón District, to which Ojébar belongs to, is made up of the municipalities of Ampuero, Arredondo, Ramales, Rasines, Ruesga and Soba. The Asón, Soba and Ruesga Valley are true havens of peace and nature
The Marshes of Carasa and Santoña (of special interest for those keen on bird watching)
The Collados del Asón Natural Reserve, with its magnificent Cailagua waterfall, which has a vertical fall of around 70 metres and the source of the Gándara whose spring captures the filtering waters of the karst of the Becerral peak
Carranza: Pozalagua Caves (famous for the stalactite formations), The El Carpín Ecological Park (a recovery centre for wild fauna)
The numerous nearby beaches (less than 10 minutes away): Laredo, Santoña, Liendo, Oriñón, etc.
The Bien Aparecida Santuary (the patron saint of Cantabria)

Estuvimos un grupo grande de adultos con niños y el trato en general nos pareció, aunque familiar y cercano en la teoría, distante en la practica. Detalles como cerradura en la cocina que te imposibilita acceder a ella para cualquier eventualidad (con niños) fuera de las horas propias de las comidas, hacen que verdaderamente, el ambiente no sea muy de confianza. Owner’s reply Partiendo del repeto a cualquier opinión, no debe ser considerada "falta de confianza" tener la cocina cerrada fuera de horas de comida. Es algo lógico y previene riesgos, partiendo de que la puerta es de vaivén (peligrosa para los niños) y la propia cocina tiene elementos y alimentos que no deben ser tocados ni por niños ni por el resto de personas que no sean las destinadas a manipular la comida. En Semana Santa visitamos Cantabria y nos alojamos en la Tejedora, impresionante¡¡¡, la casa, la zona y el trato. Yolanda es una estupenda anfitriona, nos hizo sentir como en casa. Lo recomiendo a todo el mundo, jovenes y mayores, parejas, familias y pandillas; seguro que os gusta.
Ah¡¡ la comida riquísima.
