The owner´s comments
La Casa Grande is a colonial style palace-house dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, built by a well-to-do family from the area who did not cut any corners in the use of the fine materials such as walnut wood, ceramic floors, skylight, interior doors and windows with leaded glass, two lounges with a fireplace, large windows... and renovated in 1994 to be converted into an Inn.
It has eleven ensuite rooms, with a rustic decoration, ironwork lamps, large chests, pottery, dried flowers... Spacious lounges and many communal areas, a large garden surrounding the house overlooking the 10th century Califal de Gormaz Fortress.
Interesting Places
Quintanas de Gormaz is a small village with around 250 people, which for decades was a resin tapping municipality. Today this activity no longer exists and only remnants of its presence can be found in the cutting of the trees in the surrounding forest and in the Resin Museum which recently opened its doors in the beautiful Old School building.
Without needing the car:
Visit Quintanas de Gormaz
Take a walk to the Fuentes (Fountains)
Walk up to the 10th century Califal de Gormaz Fortress
This is the point of departure for three stretches of the GR 86 hiking route

The house is located in the most southern part of the province of Soria, in the Gormaz lands . These lands witnessed many battles between the Romans and the Celtiberian, between the Moors and the Christians.. They come to an abrupt end at the Duero, which has only preserved the stones that history sought to leave behind.
How to find us :
- Once you get to El Burgo de Osma, take the C-116 minor road towards Berlanga de Duero and when you get to km 10.5 km, turn off towards Quintanas de Gormaz.
- Go through the village and follow the signs for Recuerda.
- We are situated around 600 m along that road, next to the old train station, (today abandoned)
