The owner´s comments
The Masía Cal Metge dates back to the 19th Century (1822), and was the usual residence of the doctors of the area, which is where it gets its name from in Catalan.. Today, it has been fully restored and converted into a comfortable and picturesque High Mountain Hostel.
After years of being abandoned, it has undergone an in-depth renovation, which has turned the old farmhouse into a comfortable rural hotel and family residence, preserving the character of the area and its surroundings.
Indoors, you will be able to find all the comforts and enjoy the best regional dishes, at the same time as you contemplate the silence and eliminate all that stress. You must not forget that you are at "Cal Metge", the doctor’s house.

Interesting Places
The area is in an old open-cast mine, where, apart from studying this activity, dinosaur fossils have been found, and you can visit a museum on this theme in Vallcebre or the Coal Museum in Sant Corneli 5 km away.
Also, because of its location, we are located in the centre of a large rock circle of high geological value and very near the most important ski resorts in Catalonia, Andorra and the South of France. All this can be found in the River Saldes Basin which is crowned by the Pedraforca Massif, of singular beauty and quite unknown as it is found in an almost untouched valley.

Estuvimos dos noches y todo fue genial. la comida genial (os recomiendo todo pero en especial el postre de pastel de mató). Perfecto para descansar y evadirse. Repetiré.

Gran descubrimiento Cal Metge. Gran trato humano de Isidre i Maite. Cocina Excelente, hecha como si fuera tu madre (recomiendo el Flan de Mató). La Casa, 8 habitaciones, nuevas, limpias, hasta agradeces la presión fuerte de la ducha (un detalle!)... jardin Zen espectacular, la calma se respira y además... la Astrologia. Después de cenar, subes al observatorio con el super telescopio y escuchas a Isidre... todo un placer´, escuchar sus explicaciones y ver como de grande es el universo!

Doncs sí, Masia Cal Metge és molt més que un espai rural (casa, hostal, etc.) on poder passar uns dies tranquils, rodejats de muntanyes i a prop de multitud d´activitats. És sobretot una experiència humana tant pel coneixement de les persones que ho porten Teresa i Isidre (els propietaris) com del que les coses que et fan participar: astronomia, busdisme, relaxació, etc.
En fi, per tothom que vulgui un bon lloc d´estada però també per que busqui una mica més...
hemos estado este fin de semana celebrando el cumpleaños de mi marido con mis 2 gemelas de 7 años. El trato insuperable, tanto Ignasi como Teresa encantadores, el alojamiento precioso, recomendable!

La mejor masía que conocemos, el sitio inmejorable con sus encantos y detalles interiores, confortable como en casa, la comida muy acertada en el comedor de la masía como si fuera una celebración y si a esto se añade los comentarios sobre la historia de la casa y la clase de astronomia de ISIDRE, todo perfecto, un fin de semana completo, sólo nos faltó encontrar rovellons, pero esto se dejará para la próxima visita.
