Our restaurant specializes in local traditional cuisine (its famous dishes of lamb, migas of flour, gurullos with partridge, rabbit or hare, wheat stew...). We are regularly visited by experts in cooking, friends that share their knowledge with us.

A rural manor house of the 19th century carefully rebuilt and furnished to conserve the beauty of this traditional architecture. It is situated in the Square of the quiet village of
El Contador, whose inhabitants have maintained
the way of life of these farming villages in the Region of Los Vélez.
We also offer an unbeatable ambience of relaxation and comfort for company meetings and work shops, providing rooms and means in accordance to your requirements.
Activities
Orienteering, bicycle rides or horse riding, exhibitions, music recitals, cinema, conferences... are some possible activities in The Casona of Don Bruno.
Interesting Places
From El Contador we can explore areas such as the Natural Park of La Sierra de María-Los Vélez, Guadix and Baza towns rich in cultural and historic heritage, regions as Orce and Galera with ancient anthropological remains and, above all, we can go on an attractive route through the beautiful Region of Los Vélez and its villages Chirivel, Vélez Rubio, Vélez Blanco and María.
The village of El Contador has easy access from the motorway A-92. Its situation being 1.130 m above sea level makes that summers have ideal average temperatures and that winters can provide a picturesque snowfall.

La Casona aparte de ser un hotel precioso, cuenta con un personal excelente y amabilísimo. Puede disfrutarse de un buen descanso porque se encuentra ubicado en una zona tranquila y las habitaciones son muy cómodas. Además ofrecen en el mismo hotel unas magíficas comidas. Pude elegir entre comer platos tradicionales de la zona (migas de harina o trigo) o platos más innovadores.
Por la zona, pudimos visitar el Castillo de Vélez Blanco o la Sierra de María. Os lo recomiendo.

Elegimos este alojamiento con motivo de una celebración familiar y pasamos
un fin de semana que no pudo resultar más especial. La casa por si misma rebosa encanto y es un lugar ideal para disfrutar de unos días relajados tanto en grupo como en pareja.
Las habitaciones de la casa son fantásticas, si bien la suite es realmente espectacular.
La gastronomía no se queda atrás en absoluto y la relación calidad precio es muy buena. Lo mejor de todo es la familia que atiende la casa.

Aunque teníamos buenas referencias, nos hemos quedado encantados con la Casona de Don Bruno. Te sientes como en casa pero, como estas perfectamente atendido, solo tienes que descansar.. La decoración es preciosa, con un montón de rincones entrañables, todo muy cuidado y unas habitaciones amplias y confortables, donde no falta un detalle. La comida riquísima y muy natural. El trato, lo mejor y los paseos por las sierras colindantes el complemento ideal para pasar unos dias inolvidables y recargar
