This beautiful rural hotel was refurbished and decorated by its owners in 1999 and is built in a typical “montañesa” country house style, with its own coat of arms that dates back to 1620.
Its eleven rooms are each very different, three have gabled ceilings, one suite with two rooms also gabled, and the remaining rooms stand out for being very spacious and comfortable. Television, hair dryer, magnifying mirror and all with their welcoming complimentary products.
On the ground floor we find a reading lounge, a small bar where guests can serve themselves, and the breakfast dining room, where you can enjoy a small cold buffet every morning, that Maria, the owner, carefully prepares.
In the summer, you can have your breakfast in the garden, or enjoy an evening’s nightcap.

The hotel is situated in a great location for excursions, right in the centre and close to the main tourist attractions of Cantabria.. The Soplao Caves, San Vicente de la Barquera, Comillas, Santillana, the Cabuerniga Valley, Potes, Santander are all very well linked and just a few kilometres from the village.
With regards to the gastronomy. La Salceda does not have its own restaurant, but only ten metres away, we find several places with different types of food and prices, where you can taste some of the best typical dishes of Cantabria, stews, meats, fish, and delicious desserts. From the hotel, María, the owner, will gladly give you all the information you need on the different possibilities.
The Soplao Caves: we will organize your entrance tickets for you to visit one of the most astonishing caves in the region.

Hace ya de tres años y por casualidad desubrimos, la Casona de la Salceda, en un enclave precioso y tranquilo, y así año tras año, desde mayo hasta septiembre, se convierte en nuestra segunda casa, allí está Maria que se ha convertidocasi en

We hadden voor 2 nachten geboekt, maar door het slechte weer zijn we maar 1 nacht gebleven. De ontvangst was zeer vriendelijk en persoonlijk. De kamer zeer royaal, niets op aan te merken. Er is geen restaurant, maar naast het hotel is een gezellig en goed restaurant, dus niet geklaagd. Hoewel het hotel aan een baan ligt, is het er ´s nachts toch zeer rustig. Centrale ligging om in de omgeving rond te toeren.

Nada más llegar ya nos impresionó por el encanto de su situación, tranquila, pero a 10 minutos de la costa. La casa está perfectamente equipada con su comedor, salita de lectura, bar, terraza encantadora. Las habitaciones siguen siendo como todo, un encanto, ni un ruido solo el de tus pisadas. Y por fin hablaros de la persona que hace posible todo este encanto, maría, una mujer que sabe atenderte en lo que necesites y darte sugerencias sobre lugares y restaurantes de una manera muy profesional.

Hemos pasado unos días en la Casona y sólo tenemos muy buenas palabras para hablar de ella y de su propietaria, María. La casa está estratégicamente ubicada; no se escuchan ruidos y tiene rápidas conexiones con las carreteras. ¿Qué podemos decir de María?
