"What are you searching for or what do you demand? I’m heading to Sotos Alvos." (The Book of Good Love)
This is as far as Juan Ruíz, the Archpriest of Hita, reached in the 14th Century.
In Sotosalbos, a name that comes from the Latin "saltus alvus" in reference to a forest region, wood or mountain pass with extremely beautiful scenery, is where we find this rural house, opposite a Romanesque church, one of the best examples of Segovian Romanesque.
The house is surrounded by a garden with lovely views of the mountain and the Romanesque church, and is situated in the centre, close to the village square and all the monumental buildings.
The decoration is quite exquisite, a mixture of antiques, classical furniture and modern day design, with the majority made in fine woods, leather, cotton, canvas, glass of the royal Factory of La Granja... and curious objects of the traditional customs of the area.
It is situated 100 km from Madrid and 17 km from Segovia, Pedraza, La Granja and Turégano.

We certainly didn´t expect this when we reluctantly accepted the invitation from two close friends who were flying to this destination in Spain. The village was astonishing, and the house was lovely and enchanting, like bringing us back in time.. We could watch life passing by, slowly, without worries. The hosts were phenomenal, and we´re sure repeating this wonderful experience.
