The owner´s comments
Located 2,5 kilometres from the village of La Pobla de Lillet, surrounded by a magnificent landscape of forests and meadows, in an area that invites you to take part in nature activities or just relax in the beauty of the countryside. The three hundred square-metre farmhouse is completely built of stone and is divided into three 100 square-metre floors.. The furniture is rustic in style, while being comfortable, hardwearing and practical. Antique pieces combine with modern rustic style.

The main floor is on the same level as the courtyard, making it easily accessible to persons in wheelchairs. In the entrance hall you will find information about the municipality and the county, as well as the most interesting activities available in the area. A large (46 sq. metre), open room contains the kitchen, dining room, and lounge with a fireplace.

The kitchen is equipped with all the normal appliances: oven, ceramic hotplates, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine, etc., as well as all the other utensils you need for preparing appetising food. The dining room area has a large table (about 3 metres) where you can enjoy a good meal and pleasant over-dinner conversation.. The comfortable sofas in the lounge area invite you to relax, read, watch TV or a DVD, or listen to music.

In winter, the fireplace adds special warmth to those evening fireside chats after an enjoyable day in the company of family or friends. This floor also has a double/single bedroom next to a bathroom that has been specially adapted for the physically challenged.. The first, or upper, floor is the rest area.. It has two double rooms (one with a double bed and the other with two twin beds) and two three-bedded rooms. All are furnished with modern rustic-style furniture and comfortable beds. There are two bathrooms – the green one with a shower and the orange one with a bath..

On the lower floor you will find the games room. Once the farm´s stables, this area is now for play and leisure. It is connected to the other floors by an interior staircase or you can enter from the outside by walking round the garden or entrance path. The two small windows (long and narrow that let in only a thin ray of light) and two well-preserved stone arches make this a very attractive area, ideal for use all year round.. The thick walls keep it cool during the hot summer months and warm in the winter.. Here you can play ping-pong, darts, or table games such as chess, dominoes, ludo, cards, etc.

Activities
  • You can enjoy a wide range of leisure, nature, and adventure activities. Specialised companies in the village and the area offer their services of guided tours of the Natural Park, snowshoeing, rock-climbing, hang-gliding, area discovery tours, etc.
  • As well as all the other activities, with or without a guide, there are to do in the area: walks in the woods, mushrooming, fishing, hiking, skiing, historical and cultural tours, fiestas, eating out, etc.
Interesting Places
  • El Catllaràs
A protected natural area (PEIN) A landscape of forests and steep slopes in which we can see the intense relationship between man and his environment, La Serra del Catllaràs is an important natural area thanks to its wide diversity of flora and fauna, characterised by majestic forests of beech, oak, pine, and holly trees. Here you will find the famous "Edelweiss" flower, typical of the Swiss Alps (a protected species, please respect it)
This is a true paradise for nature lovers, and there are many itineraries for hikers, mountain-bikers, and off-road vehicles. In autumn you can pick many varieties of edible mushrooms. At the top of El Catllaràs is the Roca de la Lluna (Moon Rock) viewpoint from where you can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park and the Pedraforca massif.
  • Gaudí
In the middle of this splendid place we find the Xalet del Catllaràs (a "refuge-house" awaiting restoration in accordance with Gaudí´s original plan) It was commissioned by Count Eusebi Güell and built by the architectural genius Antoni Gaudí, during his brief stay in La Pobla de Lillet.
Antoni Gaudí left a valuable cultural legacy in La Pobla de Lillet with the Jardins Artigas project, the only wet garden in all his work. We can clearly see the same naturalist criteria he used in Park Güell (Barcelona) La Font de la Magnèsia, inside a cave, provides the name by which the gardens are more commonly known.
  • Romanesque architecture
La Pobla´s important Romanesque heritage can be seen in the 9th century monastery of Santa María de Lillet, mentioned in a document as early as 819, and, just a few metres away, the Rotonda de Sant Miquel, a small, round-shaped chapel, consecrated in the year 1,000 and still well preserved.
Right in the middle of the village, you can see two Romanesque bridges across the River Llobregat. La Pobla is the first village the river comes to after its source in Castellar de N´Hug), and is a good place for fishing.
Not far from the village and our farmhouse you can also visit other important Romanesque buildings including the church of Sant Jaume de Frontanyà, one of the best examples of its type in Catalonia, the monastery of Sant Llorenç Prop Bagà, and Sant Vicenç de Rus.
  • Museums
Industrial and cultural. On the edge of the municipal boundary of La Pobla de Lillet, in the area known as the Clot del Moro (Castellar de N´Hug), you can visit the Cement Museum (the former Asland cement factory, founded by Antoni Gaudí´s benefactor, Eusebi Güell, and the first in Spain), and the Transport Museum (with an interesting collection of vehicles restored by the students of ERVAT)
Other museums in the area include the Mines of Cercs, the Picasso Museum (with reproductions of works painted by the artist during his stay in Gósol), the Patum Museum (dedicated to one of Catalonia´s most interesting fiestas), the Pastor (Shepherd) Museum, and the Cal Vidal Textile Museum.

We will be pleased to give you more information about other places of interest to visit in the area.
