La Antigua Vaquería is a rural tourism complex made up of 6 rural houses and 12 double rooms with a lovely interior garden, all built over an old cattle farm. Part of the complex originates from the restoration work, but most of it is a new construction, with the utmost care for detail to make it as pleasant as possible.
All the houses have 2 double rooms, a lounge, kitchen and bathroom. The Casa Azul (Blue House) is located on the ground floor and is perfectly equipped for the disabled.. The Casa del Ático (Attic House) has wooden gabled ceilings. Each house has a different atmosphere.
There is an area with several double en-suite rooms. For groups, there is the possibility of staying in a number of these and having the use of the large lounge with a kitchen and fireplace downstairs.
The whole complex has heating and hot water and sleeps more than 50 people.
This is the perfect place to change the hustle and bustle of city life for the singing of the birds at sunrise, the monotonous creaking of the cicadas which invite us to have a relaxing and peaceful siesta and when the sun goes down, our friends the crickets appear on the scene, helping us to guarantee a calm and placid sleep.
160 km. from Madrid and 210 km. from Valencia. 6,5 km. from Cuenca, the World Heritage City.

We organize routes from the house (4x4 vehicle) if you come without a car, where we can visit:
The Enchanted City and the Source of the River Cuervo
Las Torcas and the Cañada del Hoyo Lagoons
La Mancha, with its castles and Roman ruins
and if you do not have your own vehicle, we will gladly, pick you up from wherever you wish
Visit the city of Cuenca, only 5 minutes away
Be able to walk around a small village with a population of just over 100 and also venture onto our hiking routes without the fear of getting lost
It is also possible to go hunting and fishing
There is a golf course, only 6 km. away

Interesting Places
5 minutes from Cuenca, the World Heritage City, with its Hanging Houses, Cathedral, the Oxbows of the River Júcar and Huécar which are really picturesque, especially because of their colours in spring and autumn
A few kilometres away you will find the lovely villages of the Conquense Mountains such as Uña, Huélamo, Beteta, Las Majadas or Tragacete, to mention just a few
The La Antigua Vaquería Rural House is situated in the La Melgosa district only 6 km. from Cuenca, a World Heritage City

It is very close to places like Las Torcas, Las Lagunas de Cañada del Hoyo or the Enchanted City and is ideal for visits to Cuenca and the whole of the Mountain Range
Hemos estado este finde del 30 al 2 de diciembre. eramos un grupo de 10 personas y estubimos alojados en la casa grande. Está genial casa amplia y limpia q no le falta de nada y con la chimenea todo un lujo muy recomendable los dueños muy amables.
Mi experiencia ha sido bastante frustrante. He estado la pasada Semana Santa en una habitación doble. El complejo tiene una especie de hotel para poder alquilar sólo habitaciones y no se trata, como me dijeron por teléfono, de una casa rural en la que se puede alquilar una de sus habitaciones y compartir comedor y chimenea como si se tratara del hall de un hotel (una idea que me parecía muy bonita). Hemos estado este mes de julio pasando 4 dias en una de las habitaciones triples de que disponen.
Dos adultos y una niña de 2 años.
Es un sitio muy recomendable, ya que esta muy cerquita de Cuenca y tiene todo muy a mano.

La casa no esta mal pero:
Se oye todo, las paredes parecen de carton fino, la calefacion se apago y no habia agua caliente y estuvimos con mucho frio (nevo por la noche y todo). Fuimos a una ruta en quad y el sabia a lo que ivamos, llevamos los quad, pero el se quedo con la llave del garaje habia mas de 60.000€ en sus manos (no paso nada jeje).
Una cosa que no me gusto y es de señalar, es que pasaba a todas habitaciones antes de que nos fueramos, y estando nosotros en la nuestra paso a

Hemos estado este fin de semana, y nos ha encantado la casa: decoración cuidada, limpio y acogedor, aunque, sin duda, lo mejor fue la chimenea. No vimos mucho del pueblo y el tiempo no acompañó demasiado, pero ha sido un fin de semana muy agradable. Es muy recomendable, porque además está a un paso de Cuenca, aunque eso sí, las indicaciones no son demasiado buenas. Muchas gracias a Alejandro por todo.
