Cortijo Marien is made up of two floors:
Ground floor:
- 1 bathroom and WC.
- A kitchenette with a microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, washing machine, kettle, fridge, freezer and oven.
- A large lounge and dining room.
- A sittingroom with a sofa, armchairs, TV and video.
- A rustic indoor log fireplace.
Upstairs :
- 3 bedrooms with double beds, exterior windows and suitably furnished.
- 2 twin rooms.
- 1 bathroom and hot water shower booth.
- The bedrooms are equipped with bed linen (blankets, quilts, etc.).
Air conditioning and hot air heating in all the rooms.
It has a large and pleasant garden with outdoor furniture, as well as an area reserved for parking and if you wish you can even wash your car here.
There is a tiled swimming pool, in perfect hygienic condition and measuring 10x5 metres, with a security fence for children, a rose garden, ornamental trees, rustic decoration, night-time lighting creating a very relaxing atmosphere, where you can listen to the cicadas and night-time birds.
Outdoors, there is a small courtyard with pets and an adjoining vegetable garden with seasonal fruits and vegetables.
To enjoy a lovely roast, we have a comfortable outdoor barbecue with all the necessary accessories, in a shaded area next to the large outdoor dining tables, where you will be able to comfortably taste a delicious " roast ", Spanish chorizo, sardines...
The house has a large porch, where evening get-togethers usually go on way into the morning, while you sit on the comfortable outdoor furniture.
Also, the house has its own vegetable garden, where the owner grows and shares the crops with his guests. All this, together with a friendly and warm welcome to ensure you have an unforgettable stay.

Cortijo Marien is set on 2,000 m2 of land, which is for the exclusive use of our guests. The area is perfectly fenced off and is accessed through a large gateway.
This is a rustic style Andalusian farmhouse which has been recently restored. Given its geographical location, only 20 minutes from Jaén, 60 minutes from Córdoba ( Mezquita, AVE...), Granada (Sierra Nevada, Alhambra…), 90 minutes from Málaga and 2 hours from Seville, you have the perfect opportunity to visit all five Andalusian capitals, as well as sightseeing in the numerous little villages and towns.
Close to the Vía Verde del Aceite (the Green Route of the Oil), The Route of the Ancient Caliphate, the Andalusian Renaissance Route, the Route of the Castles and Battles, the Víboras River, the important villages with their traditional Andalusian atmosphere, reservoirs, lagoons, mountain ranges and the green sea of olive groves.
The decoration of the house has kept all the rustic features, its ancient walls, ceilings, ironwork on the windows and the banister, where one of the highlights are the wide range of farmyard tools found both outside and inside, and which give it a very special beauty.
Running alongside the house there is an irrigation channel for the small farmlands in the area, where you can listen to the gentle murmur of the running water at night, as well as the singing of the cockrels and birds in the morning.
Interesting Places
Granada: approximately an hour away. A beautiful city with a direct bus route from Alcaudete. You will be able to visit the Alambra, El Generalife, Albaicín, Sacromonte, Catedral, Parque de las Ciencias, Huerta de García Lorca, etc. The city is characterised by its excellent tapas and great nightlife.
Cordoba: 80 km away. The ancient city of the Caliphate.. Here, you will be able to visit the famous MEZQUITA, Los Alcázares, Palacio de Viena and a wide range of museums (archaeological, bullfighting, etc.).
Priego de Córdoba: Just half an hour away from the farmhouse. A jewel of the Andalusian baroque. It has an important artistic heritage from the baroque era. A cultural centre with a renowned Semana Santa (Easter holy procession) and its famous music and dance Festival.
The Subbética Nature Reserve: 20 km away. Located to the south east of the province of Córdoba and where you will be able to enjoy a wide range of activities.
Follow the national road A-316 which joins Alcaudete with Jaén.
The house is situated on the banks of the River Víboras, 10 kilometres from Alcaudete and 14 from Martos, along a road that has recently been greatly improved. The house is 750 m from this road.
