Casa Lanau is a Rural Tourism accommodation situated in the village of Latorrecilla, part of the Ainsa-Sobrarbe municipality in the Huesca Pyrenees, close to the Ordesa National Park, Monte Perdido and the Sierra Natural Park with the Guara Canyon.
It is ideally set for visits to the Central Pyrenees and enjoy the peace and quiet of rural life, near the important towns of Ainsa or Boltaña, which are only 10 minutes away.
The building is a traditional village house in the mountains and home to the present day owners. It has been recently restored, has maintained its traditional style and provides all the modern day comforts.
The owners live in the same building (although totally independent from the rest of the house) and we are at your disposal for any help or information you may require.
If you would like to visit us we recommend that you book well in advance.
Activities
There are numerous activities that can be enjoyed, leaving from the house, especially those associated to nature and adventure sports.
The house possesses a beekeeping museum and offers its guests a tour of the fascinating world of the bees supported by a large photographic background and observation hives that allow to watch the activity of these insects without the need of any special protection.
Interesting Places
It is strategically situated to be able to reach the most important protected areas of the Pyrenees:
- The Ordesa National Park and Monte Perdido
- The Sierra Natural Park with the Guara Canyon
- The Posets-Maladeta Park
In the Sierra de Guara you can visit caves with prehistoric paintings in the Parque Cultural in Río Vero, go canyonning or visit the Town and medieval Alquezar Collegiate Church.
Aínsa is the nearest town for most services and has also been declared a Historical Monumental Town, with its magnificent collection of stone buildings which have been beautifully preserved and date back to the different eras of the Middle Ages, up until the 18th Century. We recommend the Collegiate Church from the 17th Century, with its impressive tower, overlooking all of the Central Pyrenees with the Monte Perdido Massif. Also the 16th Century castle, which still preserves the Homage Tower, built in the 11th Century.
Latorrecilla is easily reached along the A-138 road and once you get to Aínsa take the turn off towards Arcusa along the A-2205. Latorrecilla is 7 km away from Aínsa.
Another possibility is to follow the N-260 road and at km 444 in Boltaña also take the turn off towards Arcusa along the A-2205. Latorrecilla is 7 km away from Boltaña.
To get to Aínsa follow the A-138 which leads to France across the Bielsa-Aragnouet border crossing and then the N-260 between Broto and Campo.
