House situated in Garajonay National Park, within the village of El Cedro. Very peaceful and ideal for nature lovers and walkers.
This house, together with El Laurel and Castaños, were originally the home of Mr Medina, who lived all his long life with his large family here, and who was locally nicknamed ¨The Patriarch¨of El Cedro. The house has thick stone walls and has been renovated using materials such as wood and tiles, thus retaining a rustic style.. Farming is the main occupation of the people here and this is evident in the environment outside. The surrounding area is a wonderful mixture of beautiful landscape, agriculture and natural vegetation of the Park.

This house is reached by foot (approx 15 minutes) along the walking path that links the Peak of Garajonay, the highest point of the island at 1487 metres, with the valley of Hermigua.. Here, nature has been left untouched by man and modern development and visiters can enjoy here one of the finest examples of the forest of Lauresilva. We particularly recommend these places of interest: Casa Prudencia, and the church of Nuestra Sra de Lourdes.
