In the upper part of the village of Vilobí del Penedès we find a few old mining sites of gypsum and the appearance of lagoons as a consequence of the mining activity, that began during the Roman empire. The concentration of phreatic waters has developed a group of small lagoons creating a water table of great ecological interest.
In the middle of these surroundings, we find the farmhouse Can Bitxac. It was built in 1903 and through these years has been used for a variety of functions: living house, stable... The house is isolated and located at the very end of the neighbourhood of Guixeres de Dalt. It has been renovated and restored keeping the original style.
The house has two bedrooms with respective bathrooms, a small loft, a dinning -kitchen, and a spacious living room with a fire place, a perfect capacity for five people. One can access the living room through the balconies located next to the threshing floor, from which one can admire a beautiful view of the lagoons, an area considered of great ornithological and geological interest. The house and its surroundings are a perfect place to enjoy the beauty and quietness of the landscape.
One can also enjoy the agriculture activity, specially the viticulture, during the changing of seasons at Can Bitxac.

En Can Bitxac estás como en casa. Hemos gozado de toda libertad y tranquilidad.
Nos encantó el carácter de la casa.En el interior, de nueva construcción,se ha logrado crear el ambiente de una casa rural antigua. Los muebles antiguos de los dormitorios, las sábanas ´de la abuela´ y sobre todo la cocina, donde encontramos incluso ´cazuelas de la abuela´, respiran un ambiente romántico y acogedor.
Al mismo tiempo se dispone de toda clase de comodidad (baños modernos,lavadora.

Un séjour très agréable pour 4 adultes du 18 au 25 avril 2008 au gîte Can Bitxac.Nous avons participé à la fête de la St Jordi à Vilafranca del Penedès le 23 avril(dégustation de vins -initiation à la sardane).
Nous avons visité Barcelone sur 2 jours, Sitges et ses musées,le site de Montserra et la sierra,Tarragone le quartier historique,Vilobi Del Penedès le parcours géologique et notre semaine était dejà finie...

Som una família amb dos nens petits, de 5 i sis mesos, que hem passat aquesta Setmana Santa a Can Bitxac. La casa és molt recomanable per passar uns dies de relax. És molt assolellada i està decorada amb molt de gust, molt acollidora. L´espai exterior és perfecte per la canalla, perquè poden jugar sense perill de cotxes. Molt recomanable una excursioneta als pèlags i a alguna cava de les moltes de la zona. La Monste és un encant i ens va fer sentir com a casa!

Una bona estancia, la casa es molt acollidora i la Montse (la seba dueña) es molt especial, tot un conjunt per gaudir de unes bones vacances.
Casa deliciosament restaurada on l´interior s´equilibra perfectament amb l´entorn. ës ideal per families o grups reduïts. Les meravelloses vistes del pèlags et permeten gaudir de la natura i t´animen a fer alguna caminada tranquil.la. La nostra experiència ha sigut molt positiva, hi tornarem!
