The palacio, built during the 17"1 century and recently restored by the local government, combines the rustic with the modern, stone walls dating back several centuries alongside vibrant colors and modern conveniences.. The Palacio de Guzman has conserved its original structure and contains a suite with 18-foot ceilings, two suites in the north and south towers, three wooden-beamed rooms, and a wine cellar with a capacity to accommodate 50 persons for meáis, meetings or wine tasting events.
The town of Guzman is located halfway between Madrid and Bilbao, in the center of the pentagon formed by Segovia, Valladolid, Falencia, Burgos and Soria. Within a 25 mile radius of the palace, guests can see some of the finest wineries in Spain, visit local Romanic and baroque monasteries, churches and ruins, walk through vineyards, sample mouth watering suckling lamb and other local gastronomic delights, play golf and generally enjoy country-living.
The Palacio de Guzman is an elegant example of the baroque period. Early in the 17"´ century, Don Cristóbal de Guzman y Santoya, Obispo de Falencia, commissioned the construction of the palace itself and a chapel in the nearby Saint lohn the Baptisí Church. This renaissance church houses altars from the 17´1´ and 18lh century and images from the 14lh through the 19"´ centuries.. From the palace´s elegant towers, you can see Cuesta de Manvirgo, a beautiful tabletop mountain presiding over the región.
I stayed in the Tower room. We practically had the entire palace to ourselves, and I know it´s the closest I will ever get to feeling like nobility. The rooms and lounging areas are comfortable and the internet access is a rarity for that area.. Overall, no hesitations in making my strongest recommendation.
A lovely place to stay,

My husband and I stayed in the Palace for a weekend last May and I can just strongly recommend it. We got a stylish room at the Tower with a breathtaking view and we found a very friendly staff there. Definitely a place to go back!

Juan Luis and Hannah are perfect hosts and did everything to make our stay memorable. Mercedes welcomed us each morning with a big smile and a great breakfast. The Palacio is so spacious that we felt like Royalty and our room with its bathroom was far nicer than staying in a ***** Hotel.. The nearby village, Roa de Duero has lots of shops and a jolly restaurant.. During our stay, Juan Luis arranged a wine tasting in the cellar for about 20 guests, which was a great event, He also arranged for us t

Ma
