Jan is a superb, knowledgeable hostess. With her History of Art degree, she makes the history of the area come alive - particularly the Cathar period and castles. She advised us from the time that we booked, right through our stay. Her bookcase of pamphlets of the region is formidable! If you want more than a B+B, this is your destination!

We stayed 5 nights with Jan. We felt very welcome when we arrived to the lovely house. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean and delightfully decorated.. The breakfast each morning was delicious, warm croissants, coffee, fruit...The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty to do and see. The best day was when we rented bikes and just cycled around getting lost but enjoying every minute.. We will be back.
What a beautiful and relaxing place to stay! Spacious, clean rooms, lovely lounge to sit and read, catching up on days gone by or getting some great travel, sightseeing, art and food tips from our host, Jan. We bought great wine (at a very good price) just around the corner from the house! My husband had his birthday and Jan made us a wonderful dinner! That was so special and kind of her!!
After a long day walking and sightseeing in Carcassonne, coming back to Colours of Pays Cathare just re

A lovely old French house in a small rural village which is surrounded by fantastic scenery. Plenty of fascinating places to visit in the locality. The accommodation is spacious and very comfortable.. The decor is delightful: beautiful mellow colours sympathetic to the style and age of the house.. Jan creates a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and is an excellent cook! She knows the area well, and is very helpful in recommending places to visit depending on the interests of the visitor.
