Domaine de Perruche du buis is a very special place.
Set between the sunny vineyards of la haute vallée and the wild, herb filled corbiéres mountains it nestles at the heart of its own 100 hectare nature reserve.
There are 4 very comfortable, stone holiday houses sleeping from 4-8 people.
The 5x10 mtr pool is shared and has wonderful views south to the Pyrenees.
Outside of school holidays it is a haven of peace. During the holidays it is wonderful and very safe for children with lots of space for games, a childrens play area and many facilities.
This is a large spacious open plan converted barn with high wooden ceilings and lots of daylight. There is an enormous mezzanine with 4 single beds, a wash hand basin and large curtain for bedtime.. The double bed is downstairs.. The patio doors open onto a passionflower shaded terrace.
For sports enthusiasts there is much on offer in this beautiful area.
The Aude river offers white water sports:
- Canoeing and fishing
- Canyoning in the gorges
Nearby is a forest adventure park for all ages
The village offers:
- Horse riding
- Tennis (free for our visitors)
- A small lake and the hills around wonderful marked trails for hiking or mountain biking
As well as visiting historic sights, arques has its own Cathare Castle, there are lively local markets and fine wines to taste in the many aoc vineyards (including blanquette de limoux the predecessor of champagne)
Day trips can be made to the Mediterranean, Pyrennees, the Dali Museum in Spain, and the Niaux prehistoric cave paintings
Many of our visitors find there is so much to do in the area that they come back another time
