Interesting Places
Five minutes by car from Amatista in the village of Tiagua is the restaurant "El Teñique" (Canarian Cuisine) which is open on Sundays until 5pm, or 400 yards further (even better!) the French restaurant "Taberna Sterlitzia" open everyday from 7-11pm. Restaurant “David” in the village of Tao just after Tiagua is a good budget option which serves generous helpings of Canarian cuisine
When you arrive at the airport please call Daniel or Senya on 928 840 867 or
639 168 574/564 to let them know that you have arrived.
From the airport take the motorway in the direction of "Arrecife"
Take the first exit to "Playa Honda"
At the first roundabout keep straight parallel to the motorway
At the next big roundabout take the third exit under the motorway and follow the signs to "San Bartolomé"
If you would like to do some food shopping en - route take the second exit instead. After 500 meters you get to the "Deiland" Shopping Centre, open Monday to Saturday 10 - 10 p.m. with a well stocked and reasonably priced supermarket and Health Food shop on the first floor.
Something more typical is the shop of “Lourdes” in the village of “Soo”.
It has specialties of Lanzarote, in particular their home made goats cheese – open every day from 9 to 3 and 5 to 9pm.
To return to the route to Amatista go back to the roundabout under the motorway and take the first exit on your right signposted to “San Bartolome”
After passing through “San Bartolomé” you come to a roundabout, on the other side of which is the tall white “Monumento del Campesino” (one of the first works of Cesar Manrique showing clearly the influence of Picasso and Cubism). Take the second exit to “Mozaga”
At the next roundabout take the third exit to "La Vegueta por el Peñon"
After approximately 4 km you will pass a yellow house with arches on your right.. 1 km further you will arrive at the crossroads in the village of “La Vegueta” where there is a small football pitch on your right and local shop with yellow letter box in front of you. Turn left to “Mancha Blanca”
After 500 m you will come to a large very pink house on your right.. Just after it turn left onto the first narrow tarmac road called “Camino las Huertitas”
After another 400 m just before the white wall of the first house on this road turn right. This house has on the corner an “Amatista” sign outside it (If you miss that turn you will end up in a cul-de-sac).
Follow the road up, and around to the left. On your left at the end of this road you will see the entrance sign for Amatista.
We thoroughly enjoyed the privacy, remoteness and comfort of Casa Amatista and we will most certainly return.
The house is well placed for exploring the island and is unspoiled by car or human. The landscape is really special and the package-holiday industry has not destroyed any of the islands raw beauty.
Our son enjoyed Casa Amatistas lovely dog called Bonnie, the great pool and the local goats cheese from the shop in Soo.
Happy holidays

Had a wonderful week in the Bodega villa at Villa Amatista in early March 2008. It is in a beautiful setting with amazing views. I would recommend it to anyone. It was great to be surrounded by so many lush plants, and very quiet, very peaceful. We appreciated the DVDs for the evenings and the extra books.

Steve and Jean and son Amadeus found Tisalaya the perfect home away from home. Wonderfully maintained, tastefully arranged, with extras like the best bed we´ve ever found in a rental accomodation. The hosts are both gracious and helpful, Bonnie is a fine sidekick for any kid, and the setting is 100% Lanzarote.. We would be very happy to be there right now!

A perfect place to stay if you want to see Lanzarote and prefer to stay in a quiet area. It is situated in a small village in the middle of the island with beatiful views on the surrounding mountains.
There are several appartments but thanks to the smart architecture it feels like you have your own private little home.
It is very peaceful and quiet in Villa Amatista, with beautiful gardens surrounding the appartments. The owners are very friendly and helpful - so is the dog by the way!
I had a wonderful time at Casa Amatista. The location was just what I was looking for, very peaceful and quiet.. The layout of the whole complex is very nice.. Although there´s several little units (studios), you don´t feel crammed together at all. My studio was very pretty, immaculately clean, and generally a very nice place to be. Combined with the friendly hospitality of the owners, it was just what I was looking for. If I went back to Lanzarote, I´d certainly consider staying at Casa Amatista
