Situation:
close to the beach, isolated area, mountains, outside the village.
During the restoration work we divided the house into two completely independent units , which include the exclusive use of:
- A washing machine
- Hot water
- Cooking hob
- Fridge
- A heater-fireplace in the lounge
- In all the rooms there is under-floor heating, bed linen, cooking tools and utensils at your disposal in the kitchen, everything you need to ensure you have a very pleasant stay.
Each house sleeps three people , with a double room and a large sofa bed.
Both houses look out onto a furnished porch overlooking the sea .
There is a few square metres difference between both accommodations, the bigger house has two floors, with a bedroom on the top floor, from which you can go out onto a balcony that overlooks the North.
The smaller accommodation has a bedroom and lounge on the same floor, and you go down three steps to the bathroom and kitchen.
It has a microwave, heating, garden furniture and a terrace.
Cha Miquela is a house which dates back to 1873 and which originally belonged to our great aunt, Cha Miquela. The house and its surrounding buildings (barn and chicken shed) have been renovated, preserving the traditional Canary Island architecture and as much as possible all the charm of years gone by, such as the ceilings and doors, made of the Canary Island pine (tea) and some small pieces of furniture that we have been able to restore.
We recommend that you come to visit our Island with a rented car, because in these rural areas the frequency of public transport is quite limited and you cannot take in all the beauty that is offered by this " Isla Bonita" (or Beautiful Island). However, you can also reach the house by bus or taxi.
The car can be ordered when booking the plane or boat tickets, or you can leave this to us. The rented cars are ready for you with the paperwork, keys, etc.. at the actual airport, or port, on arrival.
Arriving by plane :
- You arrive at La Palma Airport, in the municipality of Breña Baja.
- By Car: With the car follow the signs until you come to the capital Santa Cruz de La Palma. Then follow the same signs as if you were coming by boat.
- By Bus: Take the bus that goes to Santa Cruz de la Palma. There, you have to change bus. Then follow the same signs as if you had come by boat.
- Taxi: Tell the taxi driver to take you to Restaurante Casa Asterio in the Barrio de La Galga.
Arriving by boat :
- You arrive at Puerto de Santa Cruz de La Palma.
- By Car: Take the Carretera del Norte road, towards Los Sauces, Barlovento. When you leave the city, after around five minutes you come to the municipality of Puntallana, and there is a green sign with white lettering. Follow the road until you get to Barrio de La Galga. You come to this village after three tunnels. Follow the winding main road until you get to the restaurant Casa Asterio, where we will be waiting for you to accompany you on the last five minutes of your journey to the house.
- By Bus: Take the bus that goes to Los Sauces/Barlovento and get off at the stop "El Posito" in the village of Galga. We will collect you from there and take you to the house.
Great location, very friendly owner and a well-equipped and furnished house. Only downside is that it is not very suitable if you have a child under the age of 2 or 3. Carlos the owner is very helpful and even offered to take us on a hike to one of the nearby national parks.
La Palma is truly an island paradise and this house offers the perfect base from which to explore all the island has to offer.
