The village of Santa María de Nava is situated in the Santullán Valley , to the north-east of the Lindera del Olmo and on the right bank of the Arroyo de Prados, close to the rugged crags of San Julián. The Santa Cecilia Church rises high above the undulating countryside, with a scattering of houses that make up a small hamlet.. Towards the west, we find the narrow corridor between the gabled building of the temple and a large 18th-century country house (Caserío Los Soriano).. Here, in this village, you can discover the modern Carmen Sanctuary , a site of great devotion for worshippers in the area.
Santa María de Nava was governed by the Premonstartense Abbey of Santa María de Aguilar, and records on real estate transactions can be found dating as far back as 1103.

Hemos estado dos matrimonios con dos niños cada uno esta semana santa 2008 en la "Casa Los Sorianos". La casa es una verdadera pasada de bonita. Marisa, que fué amabilisima con nosotros, la tiene con todo detalle. La cocina es enorme y con todas las comodidades, todas las habitaciones muy espaciosas y la de la buardilla con un encanto especial (fue la de las niñas). Un salón enorme con chimenea que estubo encendida todos los dias ya que nos coincidió con 40 cm de nieve¡¡¡¡ La zona tiene tambien
