La Taberna is a building which dates back to the 1940s , built by local craftsmen using traditional techniques and local materials: limestone, chestnut and birch wood.
For years, Taberna de Vigaña was a meeting place and supply centre for the local inhabitants. It is situated in an area called "Fonte", which was historically the place where the neighbours got together to make decisions on local issues and where they also played (and still play today) bowls.
The building has been restored preserving as much as possible the traditional materials and structure, both on the outside and indoors, combining ancient values with all the comforts of the 21st-century.
The accommodation has been registered as Rural Apartments.

Take the A-66 (The Coruña motorway) as far as Benavente
In Benavente, take the N-634 towards León as far as Onzonilla, where we turn off onto the A-6 towards Oviedo
After passing the Barrios de Luna Reservoir, take the C-623 towards Villablino until you get to Piedrafita de Babia
Here we turn off towards Puerto de Somiedo and go along the AS-227, until we come to the village of Agüerina
After passing the village of Agüerina, take the first turning on the left towards Vigaña
From Bilbao:
Follow the road to Santander and then Oviedo
When you get to the Oviedo bypass, take the road towards León and then the A-63 towards Grado
Go through Grado, taking the N-634 until we get to the Cornellana junction, where we follow the AS-15 towards the Somiedo Nature Reserve (first along the AS-15 and then the AS-227)
After passing Belmonte de Miranda, 5 km further on, the first turning on the right takes us to Vigaña
From Santiago de Compostela:
Follow the road to Villalba, then Mondoñedo and Ribadeo
On the road to Asturias, take the N-634 and then the N-632 (all along the coast) until you get to the junction at Soto del Barco
Here, take the AS-16 towards Pravia and then the AS-15 towards Cornellana, carrying on along the A-15 towards the Somiedo Nature Reserve (first along the AS-15 15 and then the AS-227)
After passing Belmonte de Miranda, 5 km further on, the first turning on the right takes us to Vigaña

Una zona preciosa con fácil acceso a muchas zonas interesantes de la Asturias interior y con atractivos turísticos recientes como el maravilloso museo de la Prehistoria de Teverga... Los propietarios son ganaderos y además Marga es especialista en Historia medieval y una excelente comunicadora. Podréis aproximaros al presente y al pasado de la Asturias rural. Los apartamentos son todos nuevos y acogedores. Estupendo para descansar o hacer senderismo.
He pasado una semana en La Taberna y han sido unos días maravillosos disfrutando del entorno, de la tranquilidad y de la maravillosa hospitalidad de Margarita, la dueña. La casa está fenomenal, limpia, cómoda y decorada con mucho gusto. El pueblo, Vigaña, es ideal para alejarse del caos de la ciudad y un punto de partida excelente para muchas excursiones. Os animo a pasar unos días allí.

Vigaña, y La Taberna, es un sitio para descansar y recargar las pilas. Todo está preparado para romper la rutina y poder disfrutar del monte o de un paseo.
Los apartamentos tienen todo lo que uno necesita, la cocina es completa y se descansa muy bien. Belmonte está muy cerca por si se necesita hacer alguna compra o cenar bien.
Muy recomendable conocer bien Vigaña y perderse por las caleyas

Es un fantástico lugar para alejarse del bullicio y vivir durante unos días en una aldea típica asturiana, pero a pocos kilómetros de Belmonte que tiene todos los servicios que se puedan precisar. El alojamiento es muy cómodo para una familia de cuatro miembros y la anfitriona está siempre dispuesta a dar cosejos sobre lugares a visitar y excursiones. Muy recomendable.

El establecimiento está muy bien acondicionado. Bastante acogedor tanto si van grupos grandes como si se va en pareja. Lo más importante es el trato que ofrece la dueña de la casa. Es muy agradable y ofrece todo lo que necesites. LLega a parecer de la misma familia, es encantadora. No descarto la idea de volver al mismo lugar. Mi grupo y yo hemos estado fenomenal.
