The upper house was built up on restored ruins at the edge of the village ‘Puerto de la Laja’ near to the worker’s latrines..
During restoration 2 houses were built: ‘alta’ the upper and ‘baja’ the lower house; they are near the ‘house of the engineer’ with a view of the river and the ravine of the chestnuts.
The house is divided into living room and kitchen in one open room, and 2 bedrooms, both with a beautiful view of the river, between the two rooms, there is the old outhouse. In the new roof there have been integrated light-and solar cells.
The big rooms were furnished in a minimalist way to keep up the rural character.
Nos ha encantado no sólo el sitio geográfico -impresionante- sino la casa, las vistas desde la casa, lo limpia y cuidad que estaba, con detalles de bienvenida...un gustazo. Los niños encantados.

Parece mentira que una casa así de moderna,con diseño,comodidades y materiales tan "ciudadanos",pueda verse 100% respetuosa de un entorno tan delicado.Hasta las placas solares de que dispone están integradas en el mismo plano inclinado del tejado.Es una casa de techos altísimos y muy luminosa por los grandes ventanales que tiene en sus cuatro costados.El que está junto a la chimenea tiene unas vistas emocionantes del Guadiana.
