Casa Karen 1 (sleeps 2/4)
This one bedroom house has a large sunken living room with an open fire place and 2 built-in sofa beds. It has a fully equipped, open plan kitchen with Andalucian tiled breakfast bar. The living room leads onto large terrace with bamboo sunshade.. It also shares a beautiful patio with Casa Karen 2
The bedroom has a window overlooking the countryside and another opening onto the courtyard covered with pink Bougainvillea. In the afternoon a beautiful orange light comes in through the curtains, making the whole room fill up with the most amazing warm colour.

The upstairs bedroom has views to the countryside, the Atlantic Ocean and the Cape Trafalgar lighthouse. This bedroom adjoins a large roof terrace that overlooks the pines in the National Park and sea.. Perfect for sunsets and admiring the stars at night. From here one can often see the mountains of Africa and the lights of Tangier. Downstairs on the other side of the house is another bedroom adjacent to the bathroom
It has an independent terrace on one side, and a shared courtyard on the other side adjoining Casa Karen 1
We would like to introduce you to one of the last wild coast in Southern Spain, Costa de la Luz, where typical Andalucian houses and apartments can be found between the pinewoods and the beach.
The houses are surrounded by broom and mimosa at the foot of the magical National Park (Parque Natural Acantilados y Pinar de Barbate) and is five minutes walk from the beach. These are real Spanish villas and houses in the real Spain.. Each have their own mexican hammock...

Los Caños de Meca
The accomodation of La Fuente del Madroño, Casas Karen lies close to the Atlantic Ocean, and has grown organically over the years. The decoration takes its inspiration from the local surroundings; local here meaning Andalucian and Moroccan - the high mountains of the Magreb are visible on clear days from the garden.. You can choose between several different types of living space within our 5600 m2 of grounds.
We provide lots of information in our House and Visitor´s Books where we and our previous guests have put comments and suggestions, together with their impressions of this beautiful place. Examples are: walks and rides in the Natural Park just behind the houses; the many different types of beaches nearby; local bars and restaurants and where to get organic vegetables, natural products and aromatic massages.
Typical andalucian country homes, at the foot of the natural park and 5 min. walk to the beach.
Casa Fuente del Madroño (House of the Springs of the Madroño), is an old Andalucian house that has recently been renovated. It is divided into 3 totally independant houses. The Studio, Casa del Monte and Casa del Medio.. This name derives from an old spring that is situated nearby, at the foot of the pine forest.
Between Cádiz and Tarifa on N-340 turn towards Vejer de la Frontera at km35, and at first roundabout right towards Los Caños (+ - 10 km.)
Los Caños de Meca itself is not signposted. It starts at the turn to the lighthouse Faro Trafalgar which you pass. After approx. 500 m. turn left onto track at white washed entry walls tiled "Apartamentos y Bungalows, Trafalgar".. Go ahead 500 metres. You will see the handpainted sign Fuente del Madroño with an arrow to the right which you follow. 80 meters further on, you will find La Fuente del Madroño

We, parents, two daughters and friend of our oldst daughter, had a very goof time at Los Canos de Meca in The house Casas Karen 2.
We liked the informal atmosphere (a bit hippy-like), good and roomy accomodation (beds, kitchen, Morokkon colors etc). Mostly the terrace, the roofterrace, the wild garden. Just 5 minutes walk to the sandy beaches. The evening hours in front (and on top) of the house were great.. But: don´t come all you people. It must not be to busy out there.

beautiful, peaceful, very nice at 500 mtrs from the beach, quiet though, we loved the casas karen area, all of it! we´ll be back!!

We stayed in la chosa grande and we had a great time- I felt like so relaxed ! I could hear the sea while we where sleeping! The house is very well equiped and very spacious :) The situation of Canos was perfect for us, close to everything, the sea, the white villages and Cadiz! WE LOVE CANOS !!!!
Casas Karen is great. Also the children liked it. Very nice place, house and atmosphere. Excelent value for money and it´s close to the sea and places of interest (Vejer, Cadiz, Jerez, Tarifa etc.)
