The owner´s comments
El Pilar is situated in the heart of Sierra de Gata in the village of Acebo. This house gets its name from the surrounding area, as it is near an old water trough where the passing animals used to drink from.
The house is surrounded by orange and olive trees and pine forests, situated around 500 m from Acebo, the ideal distance for a lovely walk to the village along a path without having to take the car.
In the surrounding area there are natural swimming areas in the clear waters of the river, in the middle of nature.
Within the actual accommodation itself, you will find a furniture restoration workshop where you will have the opportunity, if you wish, to attend the short courses (by prior request) to start off in the world of furniture restoration.
In the village, you will be able to enjoy the tatting which is superbly mastered by the local women, and you can buy this lace edging, as well as the necessary tools to start or perfect this ancestral craft.
El Pilar has 3 large rooms , two on the ground floor and the other in the loft (totally acclimatized), all double, a complete bathroom and kitchen , TV and heating.
It is a lovely experience to enjoy the spring orange blossom in all its splendour, its smell inundates the whole countryside. During your stay, you can try our delicious oranges until well into the summer months.

From Madrid:
- Take the A-5 as far as Navalmoral de la Mata, take the exit towards Plasencia and in this city follow the signs for Coria until you get to Perales del Puerto, at the La Fatela crossroads.
- Then go towards Valverde, turning right onto the Acebo road, at km. 3 there is a sign on the right before you reach the village.
From the South :
- Take the N630 road (Vía de la Plata) until you get to the Coria crossroads, then take this road as far as Perales del Puerto.
From the North :
- Take the N630 road (Vía de la Plata) as far as Salamanca. Then Ciudad Rodrigo as far as Acebo.
Hemos estado recientemente, y no tengo más palabras que encantador. Encantador el lugar, la casa y los dueños. Es maravilloso. Sólo se respira paz y tranquilidad. Al alojamiento no le falta un sólo detalle, y es un sitio para hospedarse y pasar unos días en cualquier época del año. Te sientes como en tu propia casa, pero en un marco incomparable.. La finca está muy cuidada, en un sitio ideal muy protegida del frio de la sierra. La casa tiene todo lo necesario para pasar una estancia super agradable. Las naranjas... un lujo hacerte un zumo recién cogidas del árbol. La chimenea siempre encendida sin ningún problema de leña, si se te acaba los dueños siempre estaban pendientes para reponerla. Volveremos en abril para disfrutar del olor de la flor de azahar. Muchas gracias por vuestras atenciones Rosa y Javier.

Hemos estado mi familia que consta de seis personas,el paisaje estilo al de Galicia,mucha agua en las piscinas naturales que son estupendas y la alberca de agua de manantial una gozada.La casa la decoración fantástica,no le faltaba ni un detalle.Los dueños muy atentos y nos ayudaron en todo lo necesario.¡ah el licor de mora que probamos fue como un paso al éxtasis!Por supuesto volveremos a la mayor oportunidad.

Todo muy bien exceptuando la sonoridad entre habitaciones.. Sobre todo la buhardilla, en donde escuchas todo de las habitaciones de abajo.
Los de abajo escuchan mucho ruido del suelo de tabla de la buhardilla. Pero en nuestro caso tampoco nos importó demasiado , ya que cogimos con muchas ganas las vacaciones.
Cualquier detalle como el comentado pasa desapercibido gracias a la atención de los dueños.
En todo momento estuvieron ahí para ayudar en lo que fuese necesario. Muy amables. Nos acompaña

Este finde hemos estado toda la familia y hemos venido encantados con las instalaciones asi como los paisajes y el excelente zumo de naranja.
Los despertares con el aroma de los campos de manzanilla y el olor del azahar son fantasticos.
Los licores de javier son exquisitos sobre todo el de mora( le recomiendo para probar).Los dueños son muy atentos y ademas hay rutas son dignas de hacerlas sobre todo la de la cervigona con esa impresionante cascada, por lo tanto a quien le guste esta manera de
