The owner´s comments
Years ago we found this privileged spot in the district of Las Merindades, hidden between the River Ebro and the mountains. It was the site of an old flour mill and the miller’s house : both buildings have since been renovated with local materials, and the inn has been equipped to offer you a perfect stay even on those cold winter days.
We are situated just outside the village, which means that on leaving the accommodation you will find yourself in the middle of the countryside, allowing nature to engulf all your senses, listening to the sound of the river, watching the Griffon Vultures flying in the wind, breathing the pure fresh air, soaked in fragrances and feeling the rough bark of the ancient trees that for many years have been part of the scenery.
In order to activate those taste buds, allow yourself to be spoilt by our breakfasts and dinners, seeing how we have transformed natural products for your pleasure.
Activities
The location of the Inn, or Posada in Spanish, enables you to have a close and privileged contact with nature, which can be expanded upon by some of the following activities:
Bird watching routes: there are a selection of routes that combine hiking and bird watching, or places where you can observe certain species
Horse riding routes
Hiking: several routes and different environments, some of them from the actual Inn
River activities: rafting, canoeing, pirogue, hydro speed...
Romanesque Art Routes
The inn is situated close to the GR-85 route, a long hike through Las Merindades
We also teach people on the use of the water-run flour mill
Interesting Places
The Las Merindades region: this large area covers much of northern Burgos. Its rugged scenery confers upon it some specific characteristics, moors and valleys split by the flowing of the rivers over limestone rock. Different sets of caves, such as the Ojo Guareña, great waterfalls such as the Nervión, forests such as the Monte Hijedo, Romanesque churches like the San Pedro de Tejada, important towns like Medina de Pomar
The Sedano District: to the south of Las Merindades, tradition and architecture, enchanted villages like Orbaneja del Castillo and the huge amount of Romanesque art, an example of which is in Moradillo de Sedano
Valderredible Valley: to the west of Las Merindades, where we will find the province of Santander, the Alto Ebro, ancient churches, Romanesque art, San Martín de Eilines...
The Vega de Pas: in the north of Las Merindades, Pasiego valleys, green, high mountain peaks, the true sponge desserts
From the N-623 (Burgos - Santander) at km 66 turn off towards Gallejones. Follow the signs for POSADA (10 km.)
From the N-232, take the C-629. In the village of Incinillas follow these signs: Manzanedo, Población de Arreba, Ailanes, Barrio La Cuesta, POSADA (24 km.)

What can I say – we approached the hotel through a valley like a small version of the grand canyon, with eagles circling overhead and forests on the valley floor. We where not expecting such a beautiful mountainous region so close to the ferry at Santander.
The hotel is set in a green valley with a picturesque village opposite; if you walk alongside the fast flowing river you pass through pretty woodlands with mountains rising high either side.
The young couple who run the hotel could
