The farmhouse is formed by a large house of two floors that was built in the nineteenth century, with the peculiar characteristics of the purest and popular Extremaduran architecture.. It is sited in the middle of a pastureland with ilexes. IT IS LESS THAN TEN KM FROM MÉRIDA CITY and two km from Esparragalejo village. Madrid-Badajoz-Lisboa highway and Cáceres road are 9 km from it. Garrovilla and Montijo villages are near the farmhouse.
To enter the farmhouse, it is necessary to go into Esparragalejo and to follow Ermita de la Salud and Charca de los Galgos way. The Area has got a great ecological value, with a great wild flora and fauna richness.. Besides, it is a cranes crossing zone.
When the restoration has been made we have tried to keep its traditional flavour. We have respected its special features and we have used some suitable material, according to its antiquity and typology.
The tourist activity offered consists of lodgings, breakfast and meal service; wash service and craft products sale; environmental activities; wine-tasted short courses, guided visits to Mérida Roman city and any tourist point in the region; as well as fish in the neighbouring ponds in Los Galgos and Esparragalejo and Canchales lake.

Un engaño de casa, la cocina... no hay cocina, hay unos fogones sin marmol para preparar nada, los utensilios de cocina todos de restos que les habrán quedado de vajillas antiguas, el sofa con los muelles sueltos, T.V. para dos, no habia plancha pedimos una plancha y nos dijeron que no tenian y al final despues de insistir nos dejo la suya particular, la piscina un estanque con ranas, así que cuidado, estuvimos en otras casas rurales por la zona de precio inferior y mucho más confortables."

Fuimos en el mes de Julio dos familias con niños pequeños nos lo pasamos muy bien, disfrutamos de unas noches estupendas en el patio junto a la piscina.
Todo estaba muy limpio. El trato fue muy cordial.
El entorno es una maravilla.

La casa es perfecta si la alquilas completa o, al menos, no tienes que compartir el baño, bastante separado de algunas habitaciones. Los dueños muy agradables y los desayunos más que recomendables (te traen churros cuando los hay en el pueblo). Eso sí, está a unos dos kilómetros de Esparragalejo por camino, con lo que la distancia a Mérida se hace un poquito más larga. Estuvimos alojados en ésta casa un fin de semana de Julio, decidimos hacer el viaje a Cadiz en dos etapas y parar en Merida o alrededores. Pasamos dos días fenomenales nuestros hijos Jaime y Daniel tambien disfrutaron del lugar, la piscina les encantó. Gabrielina y Manuela son encantadoras, te hacen sentirte como en tu casa.
Si quieres tranquilidad y buen trato, no lo dudes.

Pasamos por alli de camino a Huelva, la casa es preciosa y muy amplia. Fue una pena que solo pudieramos quedarnos una noche, ya que habia que seguir el viaje, pero el paisaje tan singular y la visita a Merida, muy cerquita de alli, fue nuestra recompensa. Si podemos volveremos, pero para una estancia mas larga.
