The visitor is able to taste the wide variety of dishes and local products of the renowned Basque cuisine and, to be more precise, Alavesa, accompanied by the world famous wines of the Rioja Alavesa whose vineyards and wine cellars can be visited a short distance away from Artziniega.
The emphasis of the menu of La Torre restaurant is on traditional cooking, always adding new and innovating ideas, in the preparation of dishes that make us stand out from the rest. This is only possible thanks to our young team of cooks that have a great deal of initiative and creativity.

The Torre de Artziniega Hotel is situated in the Medieval Tower House of the Ortiz de Molinillo and Velasco, right in the middle of the historical centre of Artziniega.
It is a medieval construction from the 18th Century, with later structural reforms in a Renaissance style, giving it a unique structure and character.
In the past, it was used as a fortress and today we can find various coats of arms on its outside and inside walls, as well as inscriptions and an array of evidence that remind us of the glorious days gone by in the Tower.
The architecture and decoration immerses the visitor in a virtual journey to the most fascinating history of our time, a sensation which is highlighted when walking through the stone lined streets of the village and observing the houses of nobility with their coat of arms.
Activities
Why not go horse riding around the lovely countryside of the valley, where you can enjoy nature at its best. If you prefer, do your favourite sport, be it river fishing, trekking, hiking, climbing, mountain bike… plus a long list of other alternative activities that will enable you to relax and get away from it all, taking in the fresh air of the breathtaking scenery.
At the medieval market which is held in the village of Artziniega, on the first Sunday of September, more than 400 people dress up in the traditional costumes of the time and take part in the different stalls or crafts that recreate the typical medieval atmosphere.
Interesting Places
Very near the Hotel we find the Virgen de la Encina Sanctuary, one of the most impressive architectural monuments of the Alava Historical Territory, with its remarkable Renaissance altarpiece, found at the top of a parvis to which the pilgrims used to come and still come to worship this famous Virgin.
In the actual centre of Artziniega we find an Ethnographic Museum where more than 1200 pieces are on display, showing the ancient traditions and customs of the village.
By walking through and contemplating the Sierra Salvada you will discover one of the best sights that nature has to offer.
Within a privileged area like Euskadi, half way between Bilbao and Vitoria, Artziniega is set in the middle of nature. In this small Alavesa village you will be able to enjoy the peace and quiet of this serene and welcoming location.
The Villa de Artziniega is situated in the Ayala Valley. It has unbeatable communication links,
20 km from Bilbao, 30 km from Vitoria-Gasteiz with their respective airports, and 120 km from Burgos; connected by the national railway line from Bilbao to Miranda and the Bilbao-Zaragoza motorway (A-68).
The Ayala Valley finds itself between two areas of great scenic beauty, Sierra Salvada to the northeast and the Gorbea Nature Reserve to the east.
