Our stay was the best in Spain. The rooms were immaculate, the owner friendly, warm, charming and a great cook. The meals were generous, delicious, and inexpensive compared to other casa rurals in Spain. The area was silent except for calling Tawny Owls. For birders, the pines at Hornillo are productive, Puerto la Pico is a half hour distant, and La Plataforma is only an hour away. [less]

Although told through e-mails with the owners of La Sierra de Monfrague that they took Visa, on leaving we were informed that they did not. This was a great inconvenience! Their dogs constantly barked through the night keeping us awake. Breakfasts were inadequate for the expensive rates. English was not spoken at all which caused a great deal of problems. As birdwatchers we thought it might be convenient for on-site birding which it was not. I WOULD RECOMMEND NOT RESERVING A ROOM AT THIS ACOMMODATION!!! [less]

Our stay at Vina las Torres was one of the best in Spain. English was spoken fluently, the rooms large and immaculate, owners warm and friendly. Breakfasts were served early for birders with such options as boiled eggs, ham, cheese, yogurt, granola, and "mas" cafe. Unfortunately we booked too late and only had two nights. A great base to bird both Belen plains etc as well as Monfrague less than an hour away. Birding locally is fair with Scops Owl in the backyard. [less]
