The ground floor is used as a common area: entrance, a lounge with several different atmospheres ideal for gatherings, a rest, reading or simply contemplating the fire, a sitting room and kitchen.
On the first floor one finds 3 rooms with double beds and 1 with two twin beds.
On the second floor we have 1 room with two twin beds and one room with a private lounge (suite).
The meals are carefully prepared and we try to use products from our ecological vegetable garden or from the local area:
At breakfast, to start off on a good day, you will find: coffee, milk, teas, toast, olive oil, fruit, natural fruit juice, homemade sponge cake, honey, cereals, butter and homemade jams made of elderberry, blackberry, pumpkin, apple, pears, etc.
After an intensive day, when you return, dinner will be awaiting you. We make every effort to avoid repeating the dishes for those visitors who stay with us several times during the year.
These are just a few of the dishes we have to offer: leak pie, pumpkin cream, potatoes a-la-importancia, lettuce soup, garlic soup, Swiss chard with prawns, peppers stuffed with black pudding, fish pie.
After that it may be: roast lamb, chicken in orujo and nuts, steak in champagne, stuffed steak, trout with almonds, salmon nettle sauce, etc.
The desserts: cheesecake, banana, strawberry or carrot cake, tiramisu, apple pie, pears in wine, bread caramel.
And after the meal a coffee, homemade teas and liquors: bay leaf, herbs, apple, gooseberry, nuts, pacharán, etc.
La Gándara also has the following comforts:

There was a time when a nice conversation around a warm fireplace was an essential part of everyday life and this is something that we try to bring back to our house.
It is said that, in times gone by, the evenings were filled with conversations, stories around the loving warm fire, tales of ancient heroic deeds or of things to come.
They were the twilight under the large candles, without the familiar sound of the television, which is the opium of today´s evenings.
This spirit, which has been lost in the last few decades and that left its mark on the evenings of our rural world, is what we have tried to recover in La Gándara.
There is no TV in the house and the dinners are made in the old style, around a large table, where all the inhabitants of the house sit: guests and owners enjoy a delicious dinner.
The aim is none other than to encourage the tradition, which has almost been forgotten, of speaking peacefully around a table and creating a meeting place.
The house has been receiving travellers for the last 9 years; travellers who are searching for a peaceful location in an ideal setting.
Crespos is a village which has preserved, in an extraordinary way, the values of the traditional architecture of the area of Las Merindades, and our objective was that La Gándara should maintain the same model of respect for its surroundings.
Used for many generations as a shelter for farmers, the house was totally renovated. We spent 2 years on this work, but we believe that it was well worth it.

Horse riding trips in Ailanes de Zamanzas, where there is a Horse Riding Stable.
caving-walks (visit the caves with a basic level).
they must leave, a wonderful place, a lot of rest, nature, nice and friendly hosts, pure comfort, ideal starting point for hikers, centrally located for many activities in summer as in winter, very delicious typical food and nationwide

Hemos estado realmente agusto. El ambiente es tan acogedor que te sientes como en casa. Las habitaciones están muy limpias. Los desayunos y cenas buenísimos. Gracias por vuestra hospitalidad. Volveremos.
Más que una casa es un verdadero hogar.Decorada con mucho gusto, nada más entrar da la sensación de estar como en tu propia casa.Los dueños son encantadores y muy divertida la idea de cenar todos juntos tipo gran familia,los alrededores son preciosos.Repetiré seguro pero la próxima vez con mi marido!
