We offer you a unique and nice stay in El Sotanillo. This is an old country town house, located in the built-up area, that has been restored and turned into a rural lodging.. It is totally blended with the landscape of the town where it has been sited: Valverde de La Vera. In this town, which has been declared as a Historic Artistic Whole, some feast days of tourist interest are held: "Los Empalaos" (Maundy Thursday; some men dig their heels in some wooden crosses in the same way as Jesus Christ).
This house has 5 double rooms. All of them have bathroom, television set, heating and air conditioning. One of these rooms is in the attic with a kitchen and an option on an extra bed. On the ground floor, there is a small conference room. We take a lot of care over the decoration details and, especially, over our customer service.
Activities
During the whole year, we carry out some interesting weekend courses about different subjects: traditional cookery in Valverde de la Vera, decorating, painting, and knowing indigenous flora and fauna. We can also contact you with some activity companies in this area.

Numerous praises and tributes have been said about this small region in Extremadura to the north of Cáceres. It is located in the Sierra de Gredos (mountains) where you will find a lot of streams and abundant vegetation.
The words La Vera are added, like a surname, to almost of the 18 towns that make up this region, giving them an identifying mark. La Vera has a unique personality thanks to the allegiance to its customs and environment. In this region, there are 5 towns declared as Historic Artistic Whole because they have been adapted to modern times losing neither their identity nor their respect for the environment where they are located.
Paved streets, irrigation channels, passages, its church and castle, history, customs and gastronomy together with the warm welcome from its residents make up an incomparable scene in order to enjoy an unforgettable experience.

From Madrid, the best route (and almost the only one) is taking the A road to Extremadura Nacional V; at the kilometre number 148 (arriving in Oropesa de Toledo), go towards Madrigal de la Vera.
From the north, you have to get to Salamanca and Plasencia in order to take the road 501 towards Jarandilla, or the one which goes to Ávila in order to take the road 502 in the direction of Arenas de San Pedro.
From Seville, you have to take the road 630 which goes through Mérida, Cáceres and Plasencia.

La casa está muy bien decorada, al detalle. He visto pocas casas rurales tan bien decoradas. La casa puede que esté bien para alquilar una habitación, pero no para alquilar la casa completa. No está preparada. No hay vitrocerámica en la cocina de abajo, sólo un horno y un microondas. Apenas hay utensilios de cocina. Nosotros tuvimos que usar platos, vasos y cubiertos de plástico porque no había suficientes para las 8 personas que éramos. Tampoco encontramos fregona, bayeta, algo para limpiar.. La

Estuvimos hace dos años recorriendo la Vera. De casualidad encontramos el Sotanillo. Y Fué muy gratificante!! La casa es preciosa y nos atendieron muy bien. Es un punto ideal para recorrer la vera que es precioso. Y este pueblo encantador (Visitar el museo del tio Aurelio)(Enternecedor) Muy recomendable todo!!!
