The Rural Accommodation Casa de Valle is located in the upper area of Colindres, only three kilometres from Laredo beach.
The building dates back to the 16th Century, and is where D. Pedro del Hoyo was born, secretary to King FELIPE II, and royal mayor. It was renovated and enlarged at the end of the 19th Century, and today has undergone a restoration, which preserves its original style, and adapts fully to the demands and comforts of the 21st Century.
The large country house is situated just at the crossroads of the Coastal Route to Santiago, with the Royal Path that joined the ports of Cantabria with Castile during the Middle Ages.
The house used to be home to Doña Bárbara de Blomberg, mother of Don Juan de Austria, the natural son of the Emperor Charles V.
Activities
Hiking: Our doorstep coincides with the crossing of the Coastal Route to Santiago. Following a stretch of the route may prove an interesting experience.
Canoeing down the river: Why not go canoeing down the River Asón. There are several possibilities with different levels of difficulty and duration, suiting everyone’s tastes.
Quads: The company VotoAventura is responsible for this activity. It offers the possibility of choosing from many of the different routes in the area.
Horse riding activities: Top level installations. Horse riding routes, riding school, breaking-in of horses, horse jumping, indoor exercise ring.
Interesting Places
Laredo beach: This is a magnificent beach, both in the summer season and throughout the rest the year. Long stretches of this very fine sandy beach. No problems of space. You can always find room to play beach tennis or any other ball games.
The Cabárceno Natural Wildlife Park (25 minutes): Animals in semi-captivity. This is considered to be an example of the new concept of zoological parks.. It must not be missed.
The Altamira Caves (40 minutes): Now with the opening of the “neocueva” (newcave). Everyone has coincided in praising the absolute faithfulness of the original cave. Thanks to this reproduction we are able to enjoy the paintings, and at the same time preserve the fragile ecosystem of the original cave.
The Cantábrico Maritime Museum (30 minutes): This is a national reference centre for investigation, history and ethnography. There are 7000 m2 of floor exhibition space, of which 1000 m2 are aquariums, and there is also an audio-visual room and a reproduction of the way of life of the fishermen..
Santoña natural marshland park (10 minutes): The recent opening of the new bird life observatory makes it even more comfortable to enjoy watching the birds in their nature habitat.
The Collados del Asón Natural Park (30 minutes): The Asón, a river that flows into the bay between Laredo and Santoña, has its source in the spectacular waterfall, which together with its surrounding area make up the natural park. Set in very beautiful surroundings, one can also visit the Covalanas Caves in Ramales.

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans cette merveilleuse et vieille demeure restaurés dans un style d´époque. Les habitants de cette chambre d´hôtes sont très agréable et sympathiques et madame, vous serviras de très bons et copieux petits déjeuners ou le choix permettra a chacun de trouver son bonheur. Quand a monsieur, qui parle très bien le français, il pourra vous expliquer l´histoire de son pays et de sa maison et vous indiquer les bons coins et les bonnes adresses pour manger. Sont a d

es una casa rural genial,hay que verla y hospedarse alli para saber el buen gusto de sus dueños en su rehabilitacion,habitaciones grandes y bien equipadas.ah!el desayuno fenomenal y todo ello acompañado de un entorno maravilloso y tranquilo que lo hacen un lugar idoneo para ir unos dias a relajarse.sin duda lo recomendare y si puedo volvere.

Mi padre es de Colindres pero vivimos en Sevila. Este verano decidimos ir de vacaciones y pensamos alojarnos en Casa de Valle, pues mi padre la había visitado el año anterior y nos comentó que estaba muy bien. Sin duda una elección buenísima. La casa es preciosa y las habitaciones muy acogedoras. Sergia y Joseba son muy simpáticos y atentos. Hemos pasado una semana estupenda, como en casa.

Pues la verdad en esta casa rural de Colindres pasamos una semana muy agradable, la habitación fue amplia, muy limpia y con buenas vistas, por un lado, pueblo antiguo con mucha historia, campos de vacas, propias de la tierra y por el otro unas vistas del Colindres moderno y marinero, e incluso vistas de la ría del Asón. De todas formas lo mejor fue el trato de Sergi y Joseba, excelente y nos sentimos como en nuestra propia casa.

Casa encantadora, al igual que sus dueños, Sergi y Joseba, todo decorado al minimo detalle, si las fotos son bonitas al natural la casa es maravillosa, solo estuvimos dos dias pero fueron para no olvidar. Todo limpisimo,unos desayunos buenisimos con productos naturales, muy cerca para hacer excursiones y los sitios recomendados por Joseba y Sergi muy buenos tanto de visitar como de comer.. Si vais por aquella zona no lo dudeis, todo lo que se pueda decir es poco.
