Characteristics

- The old wine cellar and wine press have been reconverted into the dining-room.
-  We offer a menu of the day and a special tasting menu with a marked emphasis on local products. (new text) The restaurant seats 55 people and there is a daily menu from Tuesday to Friday for 14 €, and weekends at 15.50 € (VAT not included). There is also a special tasting menu for 23 € (drinks and VAT not included).
- The preparation of these meals is based on Aragon cuisine, exquisitely made with local farm products and accompanied by the superb Somontano wines.

El Lagar del Vero
Situated in Huerta de Vero, in the district of Somontano de Barbastro, Huesca (Aragón). This is an old farmhouse, dating back to the beginning of the 19th-century, which has been renovated, giving it a feeling of infinite respect for its original structure.  We have preserved the building materials (beams, stone, terracota, plaster, bricks) and structural elements such as wine presses, olive oil storage tanks, wine cellar, patio, etc...

The hotel 
The entrance courtyard has been reconverted into a reception and the wine press and cellar into an elegant restaurant. What was once a storeroom and granary, has now been converted into large gabled rooms, each one decorated a personal style with explicit references to the surrounding rustic and cultural area.
There are six double rooms.

Activities 

- If you are keen on  adventure sports  (Canyonning, rafting, climbing, etc...), then this is the perfect setting for these activities.
- Other existing activities include visits to the prehistoric paintings in the Guara Mountains, as well as its information centre on prehistoric art in Colungo, which has entertainment activities.

Interesting places

- The Somontano de Barbastro district,  to which Huerta de Vero belongs, has a rich and varied natural heritage, but it is the Sierra y los Cañones de Guara Natural Park where we find the most magnificent scenery and natural features.
- A short distance away from El Lagar we find Alquézar.  Declared a Monumental and Artistic Village, which offers us the possibility of reliving its distant medieval past.
- Another way of getting to know Somontano is through its  wine and culture.  There are very few places in the world which combine such excellent conditions for the growing of grapes and the making of some of the best wines.
- Other interesting information centres : legends and traditions (Adahuesca), Rio Vero (Castillazuelo), the ethnological museum Casa Fabián (Alquézar), Torno de Aceite (Buera), the Sierra y los Cañones of the Guara Mountains (Bierge), the Pottery Centre (Naval), Pozos Fuente (Laluenga), the Communication and Transport La Malena (Castejon del Puente).
- Close to Lagar del Vero we find Alquézar. Declared a Monumental and Artistic Village, which offers us the possibility of reliving its distant medieval past.
-  Another way of getting to know Somontano is through its wine and culture. There are several possibilities of visiting the main wine producers with the Somontano denomination of origin, always by prior booking.
-  Other places of interest which you can visit are Barbastro, the Torreciudad Monastery, Ainsa.
